I started my interest in diesel engines and construction equipments from when I was 7 years old in my father workshop. This diesel back ground has influenced my entire life. My father had founded our family business in 1969 offering services mostly for British diesel engines as Lister,Petter,Ruston,Blackstone and many products of HAWKER SIDDELEY COMPANY in Tehran.

I was working while studying until when I entered to the university in 1993 to study "Industrial Engineering". However, I also helped with the management of our family business which was having a hard time.

Pic 12/. Mohammad found this sectioned Lister HA-2 in the stock from the old Parkab Company warehouse. Amazingly ex-Dursley exhibition-shop Derek Swan, who spent many years preparing show engines, still remembers this engine! Mohammad says it is an example of British workmanship at its very best something of which we should be really proud.

I worked for nearly two years, despite many disappointments. However, at the end of 1994 the PARKAB Company in Iran, which was one an agent of Lister-Petter company in Iran for more than 40 years failed and they decided to sale all parts and engines in their stocks! They wanted to close the Parkab company because the British was continuing its contract

They were only a FEW people that was working on Lister engines in Tehran so after discussions with Parkab company, I decided to buy up most of the stock at a good price. Business started to improve as I then also took over their customers for parts and services for their Lister engines!

Pic 13/. Mohammad bought this Lister JK2 from a farm as the seller said it hadn’t been used for over 30 years. Strangely enough although it looked in good condition its crankshaft turned out to be .020” undersize, the cylinder heads didn’t match the engine and the fuel pump wasn’t the correct type! The general opinion is that frost had at some stage damaged the engine. No changeover valves were used on the JK engines that were built in 2, 3, 4 and 6 cylinder forms.

The business grew as my customer base increased and my reputation spread. I became an INDIRECT overseas agencies of Lister-Petter Company in Iran!! We were overhauling at least 3 Lister engines in every week and I had new customers from around the Persian Gulf and other cities in Iran. We also started to deliver parts and services to some oil companies and other companies.

In 1993 another meeting changed my business life. i had heard much about "David Edgington" calling him the famous as "MR Stationary Engines", and had the chance to travel to the UK and meet him.

David Edgington introduced me to many other engineers in the U. K and around the world! With help and support from David my business was developed again. I started to import the parts for most Stationary engines and compressors from the U.K. and other European countries to Iran.

In all my business life I am deeply indebted of only two persons First my father second Mr Edgington that helped me allot!!
